After 11 long months the Safeway supermarket on the next block to us has finaly reopened after the re-build. It's very nice, twice the size of the old one. It's a little bit yuppie with it's olive bar and in store Starbucks. T and I are excited that we can go back to walking to the supermarket after work, and since it's open 24x7 if I want a diet coke at 3am, it's just round the corner. Since I'm hungover from last night T and I are staying in watching movies and eating chocolate cake..
Inspired by Flickr's "Project 365" and my friend Kathy, I will attempt to post one picture per day for a year starting August 1st 2007. Sometimes the pictures will be artistic, sometimes they will be things that were important to me on that day and other times they will just be pictures of things I thought were funny. I am sure a lot of poorly shot, poorly composed photos will be taken, but hopefully so will one or two great ones.

#136 Irish Coffee
Big night out with the usual suspects. We started at the Pig and Whistle, somehow ended up in Hayes Valley then finally North Beach. One of our many stops was Tosca Cafe, a 1920s art deco bar/café that's appeared in a lot of films over the years. The place is best known for it's celebrity regulars and these Irish Coffees.

#135 Knobbly Bits
Crazy busy day, the end of the year is just round the corner and there's lots to do for work and school. Didn't really have time to take any pictures, but I did snap this weird looking plant on campus.

#134 Guarding The Park
The 8th Ave gates to Golden Gate Park are guarded by these jackals(?).
Seems that the spiders have been making themselves at home.

#133 Crumbs
One of the guys in the lab helped some undergrad with his homework and was given two boxes of cookies in return. We helped him eat them.

#132 Commuting
My office it about 20 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge so this is a picture of my commute to work. Luckily I'm always going against the traffic, so it's quite an easy drive. Today I stopped off on the way and took some photos. It feels odd to use such a well known landmark every day purley for it's function, I guess it must be like working in an office in the Empire State Building or driving a double decker bus in London. I'm pleased to say that after over 2000 crossings, I still enjoy the view.

#131 Sunday Lunch
T and I went for Sunday lunch. We had Korean food, which involves about a million little side dishes called pan-chan.

#130 In Traffic
Got stuck in a traffic jam downtown on 5th st between the east and west bound portion of Interstate 80. In the middle of the wasteland where they are retrofitting the freeway was a guy sat cool as cucumber reading the paper, I snapped a few picture of him from the drivers seat.
