Inspired by Flickr's "Project 365" and my friend Kathy, I will attempt to post one picture per day for a year starting August 1st 2007. Sometimes the pictures will be artistic, sometimes they will be things that were important to me on that day and other times they will just be pictures of things I thought were funny. I am sure a lot of poorly shot, poorly composed photos will be taken, but hopefully so will one or two great ones.

#005 Heavy Surf Zone

Project 365 070805, originally uploaded by AXO - 365.

We went grocery shopping at the Safeway by Ocean Beach and saw one of these new signs. San Francisco is trying to get certified as a 'Tsunami Ready' city. According to San Francisco's Department of Emergency Management website

Phase I involves the installation of signs to indicate the inundation zone and evacuation routes.
It doesn't say what any of the other phases are, so I'm guessing these new signs are pretty much it. This one is right outside an apartment I lived in for the summer of 1999.

I wonder how many people have walked pass this sign and not read it
